Signing up for the family plan is the most difficult process I have faced. Be prepared to spend 5-10 hours to jump through all of the requirements plus waiting for customer service to answer for at least 30 minutes in the queue!

Thanks for coming to the blog and for your feedback. The Family Plan provides consumers with all the features offered in the Equifax Complete Premier Plan for one adult – including 3-bureau credit monitoring and credit scores; alerts of any activity on the credit file; and Internet scanning of account holder’s credit card/account numbers and alerts of activity on suspicious web sites. The Family Plan covers two adults as well as child monitoring for up to 4 minors for 25% less than if you bought a Premier Plan for each of the 2 adults. Hope this info helps with your decision

I was planning on Signing up for the "Family Plan". After reading the above comment, I am giving it a second thought if I should do thru Equifax.

Moreover, Equifax's service seems to about 30% expensive than the similar service offered by one of the other 2 agencies

So sorry to hear that your child has been a victim of identity theft. Unfortunately it's a growing problem, as we've reported in some of our credit blogs. (http://blog.equifax.com/credit/fighting-child-identity-theft-with-education-and-awareness/)

Since she's 18, she'll want to take a look at these steps to take after your're a victim of identity theft. (http://blog.equifax.com/credit/how-to-recover-from-identity-theft/)
