I like this article a lot – I couldn’t imagine trying to write down everything I own, especially in the shock of a disaster. I think the best way to store your inventory though, is definitely online. If a tornado takes away your safe, or a thief steals your computer, you could lose everything. Saving your inventory online allows you to access your items from any computer, anywhere – at a friend’s house, library, from your smartphone, etc.

We (Signeos) are a new company offering Independent Insurance Agents online client portals, that include a really cool/easy-to-use home inventory that I like using. Clients can take photos or video of their assets and upload them into organized “rooms” or categories. This way, clients can access their inventory from any computer and keep items categorized (in case damage is limited to one or a few rooms).

If you want to see some screenshots, check us out: http://www.signeos.com/solutions/247-client-portal/

Thanks again for the informative article!
